About The Position

The purpose of the position is to ensure that all product is produced to meet specifications and established standards required by the customer and the company. The Machine Operator is responsible for the daily set-up and operation of production machines, entering product codes by hand, and operating machines to production standards. They perform preventive maintenance and inspect equipment regularly, assist Maintenance Mechanics with troubleshooting activities, and adjust production machines to ensure efficiency, quality, and accuracy with minimal product loss. The operator maintains accurate inventory of supplies needed for machine operation and documents product specifications and bag usage by hand. They participate as a member of the team, fostering strong cohesiveness regarding major issues and accepting responsibility to identify areas lacking cohesiveness. The position also requires familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic math skills.
• Demonstrated mechanical knowledge via an entry-level maintenance examination.
• Technical experience in troubleshooting machines.
• Basic mechanical and computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in poultry or food processing organization.
