About The Position

The Mainframe Software Engineer position is located in Columbus, GA, and is open only to candidates who live locally. The role operates under a hybrid work model, requiring 2-3 days in the office. This position is not open to sponsorship now or in the future. The engineer will work throughout the software development life cycle, performing tasks such as creating, designing, coding, debugging, maintaining, testing, implementing, and validating applications. The role requires a broad understanding of various programming languages and architectures, as well as the ability to analyze existing applications and formulate logic for new ones. The engineer will also recommend changes in development and system standards and create deliverables throughout the application life cycle.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business/Management Information Systems or related field.
  • Typically minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of two or more opposing front/back end languages/technologies.
  • Experience working with various APIs and external services.
  • Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with IBM Rational Tools.
  • 4-6+ years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle utilizing Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Design, create, and deliver moderately complex program specifications for code development and support on multiple projects/issues.
  • Provide broad and in-depth knowledge of analysis, modification, and development of complex code/unit testing.
  • Advise leadership on the design, development, and enforcement of business/infrastructure application standards.
  • Perform and advise on testing, validation requirements, and corrective measures for complex code deficiencies.
