About the role and what you'll be doing: This role requires a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with 15+ Years of specialized technical experience to support, maintain, and enhance a suite of mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in various skills in mainframe technologies, middleware, databases, and DevOps practices, with a strong understanding of enterprise application support.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Extensive experience in mainframe application development, support and maintenance
- Experience using Telon
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS DC/DB, MQ and VSAM.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Experience with version control systems and software development tools.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, IMS DB/DC, DB2, MQ and VSAM.
- Experience in enterprise-level ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA, HPPPM etc.) and their operational workflows.
- Worked on waterfall and agile methodology projects; capable of handling - Incidents, Service Requests and Change Requests simultaneously.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex application and integration.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Mainframe applications and database queries.
- Develop technical documentation (Knowledge Base articles, SOPs) for business and support teams
- Understand both functional and technical requirements and provide implementation/change options aligned with business needs.
