We are seeking technical professionals dedicated to enhancing the performance and efficiency of mainframe systems for federal, state, and local government customers. We are looking for skilled Mainframe Developers with expertise in COBOL and DB2 to join our dynamic team. The Mainframe Developer will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2 and related technologies. This role requires collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions that meet business requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in mainframe development using COBOL and DB2.
  • Strong understanding of mainframe technologies and architectures.
  • Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language) and CICS (Customer Information Control System).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree or certification in a related field.
  • Experience with other mainframe tools and technologies (e.g., VSAM, IMS).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and DB2.
  • Analyze and understand business requirements to design effective technical solutions.
  • Perform system and data analysis to identify and resolve application issues.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
  • Optimize existing applications for performance and reliability.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other developers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mainframe applications.
