This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mainframe solutions that primarily processes ITS claims and messages in a Mainframe centric distributed application. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with mainframe technologies and healthcare data systems, preferably within the Plan environment.

  • Provide technical leadership for ITS related mainframe applications supporting plan-to-plan data exchange
  • Design and implement robust mainframe solutions for enhancements to meet business requirements from Partner plans.
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues across the mainframe environment
  • Optimize mainframe performance and resource utilization
  • Provide production support on call based on assigned shifts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe systems with modern platforms
  • Ensure system compliance with healthcare data security standards
  • Document system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
  • 12+ years of experience with IBM mainframe systems (z/OS, MVS)
  • Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 and scheduling.
  • Strong experience both in Mainframe application support including analysis, coding testing, deployment, and production support .
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, etc.)
  • Experience with healthcare data processing
  • Understanding of healthcare EDI transactions (837, 835, 270/271, 276/277)
  • Familiarity with inter-plan data exchange protocols and systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with mainframe DevOps practices
  • Experience with API integration between mainframe and distributed systems
  • Deeper understanding of ITS custom claim formats SF,DF and RF
