About The Position

We are seeking an experienced COBOL Mainframe Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in designing, developing, and maintaining COBOL-based applications on mainframe systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Over 5 years of hands-on experience in COBOL development on mainframe systems
Strong knowledge of mainframe technologies and associated tools
Experience in working on large-scale projects with complex business logic
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality code

Responsibilities

Design, code, test, and maintain COBOL programs for mainframe applications
Work with mainframe systems and associated technologies to ensure optimal performance and reliability
Analyze business requirements and system specifications to develop effective and efficient COBOL solutions. Identify and troubleshoot issues, providing timely resolutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, systems analysts, and other developers, to ensure seamless integration of COBOL applications within the broader IT ecosystem
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all COBOL programs, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding for other team members
Conduct thorough unit testing of developed code to ensure its functionality, reliability, and compliance with established standards
Identify opportunities for performance optimization and implement necessary improvements to enhance the overall efficiency of COBOL applications
