About The Position

Job Description: Essential Job Functions Support a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions and technical support Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team Contribute to software development projects by writing, testing, and debugging code, under the guidance of senior team members Collaborate with the team to meet project objectives, actively participating in code reviews and design discussions Assist in the documentation of software requirements and specifications, striving for clear and effective communication Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, seeking guidance and mentorship Learn and adapt to software development practices and methodologies, actively participating in training programs Contribute to the implementation of best practices and emerging technologies Collaborate with team members to enhance your understanding of software architecture and design Contribute to the team's knowledge sharing and learning environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent college time with some working experience would be ideal
  • 1-2 years of relevant Mainframe application developer experience
  • Entry level proficiency in 1 or more software programming languages: CICS and/or Cobol
  • 1 year of development methodologies experience: Waterfall and/or Agile
  • 1 year of coding and debugging skills
  • Good technical and analytical skill
  • Exceptional attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Strong problem-solving mindset
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the field
  • Time management and multitasking ability
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well within a team

Nice To Haves

  • Any exposure or certification in Life and Annuity Insurance domain will be preferred
  • LOMA will be preferred
