About The Position

CTG is hiring a Mainframe API Integration Engineer to support enterprise modernization initiatives by exposing core mainframe systems as RESTful services. Location: Remote Duration: 8 months What You’ll Do: Build and deploy APIs connecting mainframe systems to modern applications Design and manage API specifications using OpenAPI Transform legacy data structures into JSON-based services Support integration across hybrid-cloud environments Troubleshoot and optimize API performance on z/OS

Requirements

IBM z/OS Connect (Designer, API toolkit, or VS Code tools)
Strong REST API development + OpenAPI 3.0
Mainframe technologies: CICS, IMS, Db2, COBOL, PL/I
Data mapping: COBOL ↔ JSON (JSONata or similar tools)
Understanding of API security (authentication/authorization)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
