We are looking for a public health leader who will be embedded with the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and will be responsible for the oversight, coordination, development, and management of the Maine Prevention Network (MPN). The MPN is a collaboration among the Maine CDC Tobacco and Substance Use Prevention and Control Program, Maine CDC Chronic Disease Programs (Obesity Prevention), and Public Health District level community partners. With guidance from the Maine CDC, contracted community partners work to implement evidence-based prevention programming for Substance Use, Tobacco Use, Obesity, and Youth Engagement & Empowerment. This position is responsible for being a subject matter expert in all three program areas (tobacco prevention, substance use prevention, and obesity prevention). This position will oversee a prevention service coordinator and work closely with other Tobacco and Substance Use Prevention and Control as well as Chronic Disease program staff. This position identifies, develops, and implements the systems, policies, and resources necessary for Maine CDC to provide technical assistance and oversight to ensure MPN’s successful implementation of prevention programming at the community level. The MPN Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of systems, processes, resources, and tools necessary to ensure the success of MPN, including but not limited to: · Conducts monthly district-wide MPN Program meetings which cover all domain areas: Substance Use, Tobacco Use and Obesity Prevention. The meetings shall provide TA/training for MPN providers to support them in meeting the contract deliverables for MPN, bringing in professional trainers for formal subject matter training for the community partners, providing opportunities for community partners to learn from one another etc. · Facilitate quarterly MPN-wide meetings including but not limited to formal administrative training and technical assistance from Maine CDC to the community partners, training needs identified by the community partners, opportunities to learn from partners State-wide, etc. · Plans and facilitates two MPN conferences per year. · Develops site visit tools which shall ensure contract compliance, opportunities for MPN partners to highlight and show off the work they are doing within their communities, focus on continuing to build position relationships with partners and includes follow-up written feedback from Maine CDC to include successes and opportunities for growth. · Leads site visits for each MPN district community partner, at least once per quarter. · Creates templates, guidance documents and resources as needed for the MPN community partners with assistance from MPN Coordinators. · Develops and implements quarterly quality improvement and compliance template. · Reviews, quality controls and codes invoices. · Oversight of contract management quality, accuracy and timeliness; work alongside Prevention Services Coordinator and ME CDC Program Managers to support timely review, content development, budget updates and encumberment. · Design, develop and implement rollout of a centralized communication and collaboration platform to support MPN work products, campaigns, tools, templates, training, calendar of events, document repository, etc. in collaboration with ME CDC Program Managers · Maintain training curriculum and support ongoing management of Prevention Services Coordinator work assignments and priorities. · Travel as required for conferences, meetings, and training. Please note, because this position is embedded at Maine CDC, this position is required to work in-person at the Maine CDC Office in Augusta, Maine a minimum of two days per week and will follow the State of Maine Tele-Work policy. While this position is embedded at the Maine CDC, you will be a member of MCD Global Health.
