What do Simon Cowell, Wally Amos, and Helen Gurley Brown have in common? The American Idol producer, “Famous Amos” cookie maker, and Cosmopolitan magazine editor all started their careers in the mail room. Want to join them? We’re looking for a Mail Services Specialist to be part of our busy Mail Center team. It’s a fast-paced job that requires someone who is focused, accurate, and comfortable working under deadline pressure. The reward: You’ll be exposed to every part of SAIF’s business, from claims processing to payroll reports. And who knows where you might go from there? SAIF’s Mail Center handles more than 4,000 items a day. To get it all sorted and delivered requires a team of seven people working closely together. Attention to detail is extremely important. Injured workers and their families, policyholders, and providers all rely on us to get their paperwork processed on time. As a Mail Services Specialist, you’ll stay active throughout the day while performing a wide range of duties. Your responsibilities include sorting, batching, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail; navigating campus with a mail cart to deliver items to each division; and preparing high-volume mail in accordance with USPS, UPS, and FedEx requirements. You’ll operate and maintain a variety of mailroom equipment—including slicers, folder-inserters, metering systems, printers, and online mailing tools—while ensuring accuracy and quality at every step. The role also involves lifting and moving heavy bins and boxes and operating a fleet vehicle. If you’re looking for a hands-on job with an opportunity to learn the worker’s compensation business from the ground up, this could be your lucky break. Please apply today. Note: On-site employees are required to travel to and from SAIF’s offices in Salem, Oregon on a regular basis at their own expense.
