About The Position

Mail Service staff process incoming and outgoing mail to ensure distribution to proper destination according to zip code, department, agency or other location. PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2025-002, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL DECEMBER 31ST, 2025. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. The Mail Services division of the Department of Administration is seeking a Mail Service Clerk 2 in Carson City. Mail Services staff in Carson City process incoming and outgoing mail both manually and by using postage meters and other various types of automated mailing equipment to ensure the distribution of correspondence to their proper destinations as indicated by the Agency/Department, street address, zip code, and/or other locations determined to be appropriate, type of mailing services to use, based on delivery times, and cost. The incumbent will drive a mail truck to deliver incoming and outgoing mail to departments, agencies, campuses, and the federal post office.
