Responsibilities

  • Oversee the sorting, preparation, and delivery of all incoming and outgoing U.S. and inter-departmental mail, medical supplies, charts, and x-rays.
  • Operate mailroom postage machine and Piney Bowes Inserter Machine.
  • Maintain a record of monthly postal usage by department, and forward the information to the accounting department.
  • Ensure correct postage is applied and mail is bagged correctly for pre-sort or post office.
  • Work closely with couriers like FedEx and UPS for incoming mail, and track their shipments.
  • Verify accuracy and condition of shipments by reconciling purchase orders and packing slips, and inspecting for damages.
  • Store delivered materials in specified storage areas and maintain adequate supplies for employee lounge areas.
  • Assist in the maintenance of inventory control system and print departmental Purchasing Reports.
  • Prepare outdated pharmaceuticals to be picked up for destruction, incineration, or possible credit from vendors.
  • Adhere to Universal Precautions, safety policies, and procedures at all times, and protect patients' protected health information in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
