Mail Courier / Driver (On-Call)
About The Position
BrightKey is looking for an experienced Mail Courier/Driver in Melbourne, FL! This position is not full time, but on-call as needed. If you are organized, have excellent attention to detail, and are passionate about ensuring smooth mail operations, we'd love to hear from you. As a Mail Courier/Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of mail and packages to various locations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of service that our customers expect. This position requires a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Experience in driving and handling mail is strongly desired.
Requirements
- US Citizenship
- Valid driver's license.
- Clean driving record
- Proven experience as a driver; experience in mail delivery is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry mail and packages up to [weight limit, e.g., 50 pounds].
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and reliably.
- Familiarity with local streets and neighborhoods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves
- Professional driving experience with companies such as FedEx, UPS, United States Postal Service (USPS) or similar organizations that handle mail/parcel deliveries
- Experience in handling and/or sorting mail and packages
- Corporate mail room experience
Responsibilities
- The Mail Courier/Driver will collect and deliver mail and packages to and from specified locations.
- Sort and organize mail and packages for efficient delivery.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivery.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of all mail and packages.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
- Report any issues or delays encountered during delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
