About The Position

We are recruiting for a motivated Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist - PRN to join our team! Under the direction of a radiologist, performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical imaging studies. Independent judgment, technical skills, and commitment to patient safety are considered requisite professional characteristics for individuals assuming the position of a MRI technologist.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Required
  • Less than 1 year of professional work experience in performing radiographic procedures, including 3 months experience in undertaking MRI imaging studies.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required
  • ARRT-Radiologic Technologists - ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required

Responsibilities

  • Performs high quality MRI imaging studies by selecting specific software parameters that will produce a quality image for use by physicians in their determination of a diagnosis.
  • Effectively interacts with Denver Health's PACS system through compliance with data entry, image post-processing, image archiving tasks, image quality assurance, and other related user interface activities.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media for patient examinations according to radiologists' direction.
  • Screens patients, Denver Health employees, and visitors to guard the safety of individuals undergoing an MRI examination.
  • Ensures patient safety, comfort, and personal dignity by following appropriate patient care guidelines.
  • Assists in the maintenance of department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on medical supplies.
  • Verifies the physician order and relevant patient's history in Epic.
  • Scans all relevant clinical information into the PACS and transmits current images to the PACS.
  • Maintains imaging equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests.
  • Notates within the appropriate electronic/hardcopy document all pertinent patient information.
