About The Position

Venture Dynamics is seeking an experienced Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT) Inspector to support active ship repair and fabrication projects in the Norfolk / Hampton, Virginia area. The Inspector will perform non-destructive testing (NDT) on welds and structural components to verify compliance with NAVSEA and customer quality standards.

Requirements

• Certification: NDT Level II in Magnetic Particle Testing (ASNT SNT-TC-1A or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on MPT inspection in a shipyard or industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items and weld inspection procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• Must be a U.S. citizen eligible to access naval facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform magnetic particle inspections (wet or dry methods) on welded and fabricated materials.
• Set up, calibrate, and maintain NDT equipment per procedure.
• Interpret indications and evaluate results against applicable codes and acceptance criteria.
• Document inspection results clearly and accurately.
• Communicate findings with supervisors, welders, and QA/QC personnel.
• Follow all safety and quality control requirements on site.
