Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent with the ability to learn quickly; basic math/reading skills.
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience with Manufacturing Operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude including welding (ex. mig, tig, stick and aluminum), carpentry and metal fabrication.
  • Experience using basic maintenance tools and machines (ex. drill press, band saw, overhead crane).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/schematics, cutting and grinding preferred.
  • Possess valid hilo license or have the ability to obtain a hi-lo license.
  • Be trained and certified to operate overhead crane or have the ability to be so trained and certified.
  • Be able to lift 10-80 pounds utilizing a 2 man lift and crane lift to move material from delivery to stock.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills involving a high degree of judgment and comprehension.
  • Demonstrated experience with 5S, maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Ability to work varying hours and shifts as needed to support projects.
  • Ability to stand and walk around for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in manufacturing environments.
  • English proficiency required, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports implementation of continuous improvement ideas including design, fabrication, installation and support.
  • Assists in minor machine repairs, upgrades or modifications in support of production activities.
  • Performs basic carpentry and metal fabrication work (i.e. building tables, shelves, carts, etc.).
  • Performs equipment cleaning, painting, lubrication, etc. as well as general work cell cleaning.
  • Works with production teams and individuals to solicit improvements and take their ideas from concept through design, fabrication, trial and revision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
