About The Position

As a Product Developer on the Domestic Development team at New Balance, you will collaborate with a cross-functional project team to manage development tasks and deadlines for various Made In the USA footwear initiatives. This role involves maintaining communication with various departments, generating spec sheets and tech packages, and working with suppliers to track materials for prototypes. You will also evaluate prototypes for quality and accuracy, gaining insights into shoe construction and manufacturing processes.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of project management experience and/or footwear experience is a plus.
• Basic comprehension of materials, components, patterns, and molds/tooling.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Strong computer skills, including Adobe Illustrator.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Work with a cross-functional project team on development tasks for Made In the USA footwear initiatives.
• Maintain communication with product engineering, purchasing, planning, marketing, design, and manufacturing teams.
• Generate spec sheets and tech packages for prototype creation.
• Select, order, and track materials needed for prototyping and manufacturing trials with suppliers.
• Evaluate prototypes and extreme samples for accuracy and quality standards.
• Create tooling requests, work travelers, and cost requests for prototype builds.
• Distribute prototypes and samples to appropriate parties and maintain product display walls.
• Travel to domestic raw material suppliers and New Balance MADE Manufacturing sites as needed.
