About The Position

Spend your summer having FUN while making a real impact. At Mad Science of DC, you’ll build and launch rockets, demonstrate lasers, explore dinosaurs, create amazing experiments, and inspire kids through hands-on science activities. Every week is a new adventure. This is not a desk job and not retail. You’ll stay active, work with a team, and lead excited elementary-age campers through unforgettable STEM experiences. Mad Science is the world’s leading provider of science enrichment programs for children. What You’ll Do Lead a group of elementary-aged campers through exciting, hands-on science activities, demonstrations, and take-home projects using our fully prepared curriculum. We supply all materials, equipment, and training. Your job is to bring energy, enthusiasm, and leadership. Camps are held throughout the DC metro area, including: Vienna McLean Bethesda Rockville Gaithersburg Silver Spring Washington DC Howard County Arlington Annandale Fairfax Springfield Alexandria Chantilly and more You will be assigned to camp locations within a reasonable driving distance of your home and typically remain at the same site for the entire week (often multiple weeks). Mad Science is a powerhouse brand with locations around the globe! For over 35 years, we have sparked imaginative learning through our summer camps, birthday parties, in-class workshops, after-school programs, and special events for kids ages 3-12. Requirements

  • College students or recent graduates
  • Enjoy working with children ages 6–12
  • Are outgoing, responsible, and dependable
  • Can lead activities and manage a group
  • Have a reliable personal vehicle
  • Are available most weeks between June 12 and August 21
  • A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license are required.
