Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? The Aftermarket Repair organization (PSD) located in Springdale, AR is looking for a Machinist Technician for 2nd shift. Shift earns 8% shift premium after training period on 1st shift. The training hours are Monday-Friday, 6:30AM to 3:00PM and permanent 2nd shift hours are Monday-Friday, 3:00PM to 11:30PM. PSD is a clean, well-lit, state-of-the-art machining center in a climate-controlled facility. Overtime opportunity may be available, after a period of training. Pratt & Whitney PSD is an FAA regulated facility, and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment. Pratt & Whitney Springdale, AR is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40. Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility. Requirements

  • HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) with a minimum of 2 years of machining experience.
  • Previous experience/training reading blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine machining and set-up requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical trade school degree in machining
  • Training to include set-up of fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories.
  • 5+ years of machining experience
  • 5-axis horizontal or vertical milling experience
  • Experience with VTL, Lathes, and/or Mills
  • FANUC Controller experience

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate conventional, special purpose, and computerized numeric control (CNC) machines to fabricate and repair metallic and non-metallic parts.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications to determine machine and set-up requirements.
  • Set-up and prepare includes: set up of fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories.
  • Operator level maintenance of machine and set up documents.
  • Use measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, to ensure specifications are met.
  • Maintain a clean work environment
