About The Position

Airbus is looking for multiple Machinist to join our team in Mobile, AL at our manufacturing facility. The candidate will work in the Machine Shop and set up/operate Computer Numeric Control (CNC) Production equipment as well as other manual shop equipment like milling machines and lathes. The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor you’ll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Join our team and help build the next generation of aircraft. Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Five (5)+ years of experience working in a Machine/Fab Shop
• Five (5)+ years of experience in Aerospace (or related/transferrable field)
• Must be able to write code for CNC programming (create and correct DXF and GNH files) from drawings.
• Knowledge of blueprint drawing tolerance.
• Must be able to work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of machining to include setup and operation of equipment such as 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills, lathes, routers, lasers and manual milling machine and manual experience programming using CATIA or better required.
• Ability to read and write g-code using CAM software as the machine controller
• Produce quality products in a timely manner using specifications and documents in conjunction with written work.
• Code programs for new parts that come into the shop
• Create instructions for the setups
• Review CAD design blueprints
