About The Position

Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a 2nd Shift Machinist. This role involves performing various machining operations including turning, milling, drilling, and threading on rotating equipment components such as pumps, turbines, and compressors. The machinist will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, G-code, and technical drawings to produce quality parts, maintaining and verifying tight tolerances, and utilizing precision measuring instruments. The position also requires setting up and operating machining equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, operating small lifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Completing assigned tasks with high attention to detail, communicating effectively with team members and supervisors, maintaining tools, and following all safety directives and company policies are also essential aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of machinist experience required
  • Strong knowledge of machining practices including turning, milling, drilling, and threading
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and G-code
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
  • Strong mathematical skills for calculating tolerances and dimensions
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must supply basic machinist tools
  • Willingness to work a full-time schedule with potential overtime, evenings, and weekends
  • Must be able to comply with drug screenings, background checks, and safety requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform machining operations including turning, milling, drilling, and threading on rotating equipment components such as pumps, turbines, and compressors
  • Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and technical drawings to produce quality parts
  • Maintain and verify tight tolerances in accordance with specifications and industry standards
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
  • Set up and operate machining equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Operate small lifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
  • Complete assigned tasks while maintaining high attention to detail and organization
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production and quality
  • Maintain proper care, calibration, and use of tools and measuring devices
  • Follow all safety directives, company policies, and customer requirements
