3M is seeking Machinist candidates in Clarkston, Georgia. This full-time position is available for 2nd or 3rd Shift. Requirements

Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
One (1) Year Experience with CNC lathes and/or CNC turning centers or CNC Technical Diploma
Applicants meeting the basic qualifications above may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as part of the selection process
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M

Nice To Haves

Excellent mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as, understanding and proficiency with geometry, trigonometry, and machining calculations
Complex reading of drawings and notes

Responsibilities

Using Computer Aided Design Software to implement solutions for obtaining desired grinding results
Use Coordinate Measuring Machine and other measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify work and adjust
Identify and properly manage hazardous waste
Participating in all safety and regulatory training needed to fulfill the duties of the position
Follow all plant safety rules and regulations
Analyze the performance of equipment and tooling to recommend changes and improvements to equipment and procedures
Communicating with other departments regarding quality, safety, and equipment issues
Comply with corporate policies, procedures and security standards while performing assigned duties
Contribute to a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement
