About The Position

3M is seeking Machinist candidates in Clarkston, Georgia. This full-time position is available for 2nd or 3rd Shift. Requirements

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • One (1) Year Experience with CNC lathes and/or CNC turning centers or CNC Technical Diploma
  • Applicants meeting the basic qualifications above may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as part of the selection process
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
  • All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as, understanding and proficiency with geometry, trigonometry, and machining calculations
  • Complex reading of drawings and notes

Responsibilities

  • Using Computer Aided Design Software to implement solutions for obtaining desired grinding results
  • Use Coordinate Measuring Machine and other measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify work and adjust
  • Identify and properly manage hazardous waste
  • Participating in all safety and regulatory training needed to fulfill the duties of the position
  • Follow all plant safety rules and regulations
  • Analyze the performance of equipment and tooling to recommend changes and improvements to equipment and procedures
  • Communicating with other departments regarding quality, safety, and equipment issues
  • Comply with corporate policies, procedures and security standards while performing assigned duties
  • Contribute to a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement
