About The Position

JOB SCOPE Produce machined parts including set-up and operation of computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Includes maintaining quality and safety standards, record keeping and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

Requirements

5+ years experience in lathe, mill and/or swiss machining
Background in Process improvement
Tooling
Functional and technical skills
Commit to procedures mandated by ISO QMS.

Responsibilities

Plan machining by studying setup sheets, blueprints, materials inspection gauging, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Set tool registers, offsets, compensation and calculating requirements. Includes the use of basic math.
Set up mills and lathes by following setup sheets.
Load machines by lifting stock into position.
Verify settings by measuring first-run part. Includes checking samples as required.
Maintain part quality by replacing worn tools and adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintain safe operations.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. Includes following manufacturer’s instructions calling for repairs when needed.
Maintain continuity among work shifts by communicating necessary information to next shift.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership and exploring opportunities to add value to everything related to the machine shop.
