Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? We have an exciting opportunity for a Machinist to join our 2nd shift in Engine Center (in Bridgeport, WV.). In this role you'll be a part of our dedicated team responsible for overhauling our engines. The person in this role may be required to train on first shift up-to six months before moving into the intended shift (2nd shift). 2nd Shift is Monday-Thursday from 3:30pm-1:30am.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Technical School training in machine tool or advanced inspection equipment.
  • Experience with CNC programming, performing setups, and using CNC controls and G&M codes used in machining operations.
  • Ability to read or interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing symbols (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of metal and other materials properties used in aerospace parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings and/or CAD/CAM files.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers etc.) typically used to inspect dimensions and features.
  • Familiar with all other supporting machine shop tools including bandsaws, table saw, drill press, grinders, pneumatic tools, routers, 3D printing (a plus) and tool sharpeners.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions related to occupational hazards, procedures, and practices of the trade.
  • Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Team Center and Solumina.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rework operations such as reboring, honing and lapping, assemble sections and use micrometers, height gauges and a variety of fixed gauges to check mounting distances of gears, back lash, end play, fits, clearances and other specified requirements.
  • Use a variety of hand and bench tools to perform rework and modification operations such as drilling, reaming, cleaning, tapping, deburring, filing, polishing, buffing, and blending operations on various parts.
  • Operate a variety of machine tools, (grinders, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, EDM, etc.) to perform various machining and rework operation in aircraft engine parts.
  • Fabricate and grind simple jibs, fixtures, templates, reamers, plug gauges, fly cutters, adapters, pullers, bushings, etc.
