Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? Our Springdale, AR facility employs over 200 employees and provides critical support to the aftermarket operations of our engine portfolio. We are looking for Machinist Technicians/Experienced Machine Operators for AWW (Weekend) Shift. AWW shift hours are Friday- Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:30PM. You will receive a shift differential when working on AWW Shift of 8%. All new employees will train on 1st shift for the first 6-8 months. The 1st shift training hours are Monday-Friday, 6:30AM to 3:00PM. PSD is a clean, well-lit, state-of-the-art machining center in a climate-controlled facility. Overtime opportunity may be available, after a period of training. Pratt & Whitney PSD is an FAA regulated facility, and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment. Pratt & Whitney Springdale, AR is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • 2 years of machining experience/training to include set-up of fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories.
  • Previous experience/training reading blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine machining and set-up requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical trade school degree in machining
  • 5+ years of machining experience
  • FANUC Controller experience
  • Experience with VTL, Lathes, and/or Mills

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate conventional, special purpose, and computerized numeric control (CNC) machines to fabricate and repair metallic and non-metallic parts.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications to determine machine and set-up requirements.
  • Set-up and prepare includes: set up of fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories.
  • Operator level maintenance of machine and set up documents.
  • Use measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, to ensure specifications are met.
  • Maintain a clean work environment
