A Machinist manufactures and machines parts for use in rupture disc assemblies in accordance with company manufacturing procedures and safety policies. THIS IS A 2nd SHIFT POSITION - 2PM - 10PM

Requirements

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Intermediate math and reading skills
  • Working knowledge of Okuma lathes, mills and other industrial equipment used in the machine shop
  • Heavy Okuma lathe experience required
  • Ability to modify CNC programs
  • Motor skills sufficient to successfully and safely use required tools and machinery
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for majority of scheduled shift, typically 8-10 hours per day, though possibly more when overtime is required
  • Using proper lifting techniques, ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and safety shoes
  • Willingness and ability to follow all manufacturing procedures and company policies
  • Attention to detail
  • Concern for quality, accuracy and safety
  • Ability to stay on task and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others, including peers, supervisors, executive management and outside vendors, representatives and visitors when called upon
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years’ experience in a job shop or similar high-mix, low volume production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in CIMM or related industrial technology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Determine setup requirements, sequence of operations and tolerance of finished parts using blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals and instructions
  • Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points on material as needed to set guides for subsequent machining
  • Machine bar stock to specified dimensions
  • Verify conformance of finished parts to specifications using precision measuring equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need
