The Machinist will perform various duties in preparing parts for assembly of equipment, including operating various machining equipment. This is an hourly position that reports directly to the Machining Foreman.
Perform various machining and fabrication duties
Assist with checking accuracy and quality of all phases of fabrication
Operate basic shop equipment, including shear, press, iron worker, etc.
Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required
Maintain accurate records and paperwork for projects
Contribute to a positive work environment
Demonstrate awareness, engagement, and accountability for work results
Communicate effectively and appropriately with others in the work environment
Adhere to company policies as dictated in the current employee handbook
Take an active role in company programs, meetings, and events
Perform other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED
Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications
Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process
Ability to move roughly 50 to 75 lbs. and remain stationary throughout a shift
Understanding of health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents
Basic knowledge of cutting and welding
Able to operate various machining tools efficiently and effectively
