Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education degree (GED).
  • Prior Acu-rite retrofit operating experience is highly desired.
  • Must have five (5) years applicable machine tool experience with 3 years manual machining.
  • Must be able to perform machining independently and willing to train others.
  • Must read and interpret mechanical drawings, have good understanding of geometric tolerances.
  • Must be able to lift, up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up, maintains set up and fully operates all machine tools within tolerances and specifications as directed by supervisor or written documentation.
  • Adapts standard tooling, mounts cutting tools, sets feeds and speeds, determines number of cuts required to obtain finish, and makes all the necessary adjustments.
  • Works with all required materials.
  • Operates 2 & 3 axis Bridgeport Acu-Rite retrofit mills, Matsuura 3-axis CNC, Hass 3-axis CNC lathes.
  • Performs manual machining using Hardinge lathe, LeBlond lathe, Bridgeport, and Deckel mills.
  • Checks and measures work using measuring tools, including gage blocks, sine bars, and toolmaker's microscope.
  • Works from engineering drawings, rough sketches, written specifications, and oral instructions.
  • Gives work direction to machine operators and machine specialists as required.
  • Assists in machine set up for machine operators and machine specialists as required.
  • Performs heat treating, finishing, grinding, honing, brazing and mechanical assembly operations as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
