Responsibilities:  Strong ability to setup and run all standard axis (5 axis preferred), numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skill Works from programs, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions Self-sufficient with all aspects of machine set up on machines within their area of responsibility May provide training, set-up, tool adjustment, trouble shooting, etc., support to others With limited technical supervision, checks out programming, sets up, operates and adjusts computer numerically controlled machine tools to perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications Works from programs, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions Self-sufficient with material clamping methods, machine adjustments/offsets and console settings Operations include drilling, honing, boring, milling and turning, screw machine operation, etc., on routine and repetitive operations

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • 1 year of experience as a CNC Machinist IV or 5-6 years manufacturing experience as a CNC machinist
  • Understanding of Common GD&T restraints such as runout, concentricity, and Parallelism
  • Proficient in use of shop math
  • Limited technical supervision
  • Requires knowledge of machining techniques such as cutting jaws, touching tools off and tramming fixtures
  • Familiarity with computer numerically controlled machine tool operating procedures such as dry run, geometry and wear offsets, MDI functions and basic G codes
  • Machining Training Certificate preferred
