About The Position

Ichor Systems has an immediate opening for a Machinist, located in Fremont, CA. Reporting to the Sr Manufacturing Manager, the Machinist will perform TIG welding for both stainless steel (SST) and aluminum on vacuum fittings inside and outside cleanroom environments.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a 2-year professional trade program in Welding Technology or equivalent.
  • Commitment to quality and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Focus on safety in all daily operations.
  • Knowledge of various welding machines, including TIG and orbital welding on stainless steel and other high-purity materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings in inch and metric units and BOMs.
  • Strong understanding of mechanics, flow control elements, and MRP concepts.
  • Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • Basic PC skills for manufacturing.
  • Experience working in high-purity cleanroom environments.
  • Understanding of UHP industry standards.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • 4–5 years of experience in tube purge vacuum welding.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hand TIG welding for both stainless steel and aluminum, including tube purge vacuum welding.
  • Perform mechanical set-ups and changeovers for all welding operations.
  • Process and inspect first piece in accordance with blueprint specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Measure and verify dimensions using inspection tools.
  • Complete routing and process planning as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to develop advanced welding processes.
  • Perform a sequence of operations, consistently maintaining quality and quantity standards.
  • Proficiently use all approved hand gauges to inspect component quality at the work center.
  • Work as a team member to uphold departmental standards, including quality and on-time delivery goals.
