Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? We have an exciting opportunity for a Machinist to join our team in Wichita Falls, TX on the 2nd shift. In this role you’ll be a part of our dedicated team working to repair and overhaul hot sections of our engines. The person in this role may be required to train on first shift for up to six months before moving into the intended shift (2nd shift). The typical work schedule will be 3:00pm – 1:00am, Monday – Thursday (4x10 2nd shift schedule). Pratt & Whitney in Wichita Falls, TX is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in CNC, Manual Lathe, or Electrical Discharge Machining

Nice To Haves

  • Technical School training in machine tool or advanced inspection equipment.
  • Experience with CNC programming, performing setups, and using CNC controls and G&M codes used in machining operations.
  • Ability to read or interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing symbols (GD&T)
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers etc.) typically used to inspect dimensions and features.
  • Experience reading/interpreting blueprints

Responsibilities

  • Maintain dimensional quality on all parts by repeated inspection throughout the machining process
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Use basic measuring instruments such as: micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
  • Verify that all instruments used have been calibrated
  • Perform pre and final machining on parts in accordance with written and verbal instructions
  • Set up and operate one or more of the following: lathes, mills, grinders, and other machinery, manual or CNC, as required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Ensure all environment, health, and safety rules, requirements, and procedures are adhered to
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
