The position involves programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining machining equipment at an expert level, as well as troubleshooting robotic and ladder logic controls to produce products and components.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D, trade school or additional certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years previous machining experience required, 5+ years preferred including experience with programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Understanding of G-Code programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret a variety of documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Possess math skills as necessary to perform core functions of the role.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Understanding of gauging / measuring devices required.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to complete tasks.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and organize work/priorities.
  • Forklift certification capable.
  • Must be able to work overtime when required including some weekends.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the required duties in accordance with safety guidelines and lean principles by complying with all safety procedures and all company policies.
  • Without technical supervision, perform the most complex machining of parts and tools, typically on one or more machines, and handle difficult assignments.
  • Create computer applications for manufacturing processes or operations, using CAD or CAM tools.
  • Program, set-up, and operate CNC machining equipment to perform milling, drilling, threading, sawing, and boring operations.
  • Troubleshoot robotic controls, HMI and ladder logic controls, hydraulic systems, and paint systems.
  • Coordinate/assist with equipment purchases, installations, or transfers.
  • Skillfully use all machinist hand tools and measuring instruments to perform inspection of parts.
  • Understand and comprehend all forms of technical documents including blueprints and drawings, written specifications, charts, tables, etc.
  • Complete all tasks of set up technician/operator.
  • Train regular and/or temporary employees in department processes.
  • Serve as a technical resource for set up technicians/operators.
  • Complete various types of paperwork related to production reporting.
  • Maintain work areas by cleaning and organizing the space and equipment.
  • Actively participate in company-sponsored training programs.
  • Perform key roles in High Performance Team participation.
  • Deal ethically with Parker's customers, suppliers, fellow associates, and the general public.
  • Complete additional duties and projects as assigned.
