About The Position

As a Machinist at Philips, you will support the development of next-generation oral healthcare products (Sonicare) by creating engineering prototypes. In this role you have an opportunity to directly impact lives of people around the world and help solve some of the toughest challenges affecting us today. Your role: Successfully complete CNC Programming with SURFCAM, and job set-up and CNC machining on HAAS 3 and 5-axis machines. Deliver finished parts from 3D CAD models. Manufacture or modify engineering prototypes, mechanical parts, tooling, and fixtures based on 3D models, drawings, sketches, and engineering instructions. Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling using Solidworks 3D CAD Software. Consult with project engineers on part design and manufacturability when appropriate. Collaborate with engineering teams, provide feedback, and make recommendations to solve complex problems. Provide occasional support to the broader team such as: assisting with R&D Lab projects, producing cross-sectional acrylic casting for engineering evaluations, or fabricating 3D printed parts with Stratasys printers. (for example). This position is required to be onsite 5 days per week, with occasional remote work flexibility.

Requirements

  • You have a minimum of 4 years of industry experience or 2-year machining technology certificate/degree.
  • Strong machining, mechanical aptitude, mathematical skills, and an understanding of fundamental programming and machining principles.
  • Ability to design mechanical fixtures, jigs, and tooling using Solidworks 3D CAD software.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this Production/Assembler position.
  • You have the ability to demonstrate initiative in identifying and resolving problems.
  • You are able to work effectively in a team environment by collaborating to produce results.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
  • For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Bothell, WA.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an R&D product development environment is a plus.
  • Experience operating Haas CNC mills, Okuma CNC lathes is a plus.
  • Ability to use SURFCAM to program CNC mills and/or Okuma AOT to program CNC lathes a plus.
