Requirements

  • CNC Programming and Manual Machining Experience. Must have previous experience programming CNC Machines and the ability to manually machine parts as needed.
  • Interpersonal Skills. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate an attention to detail and good judgment.
  • Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry Knowledge. Previous experience rebuilding Industrial Pumps, working with Bearings, and in an Industrial setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently.
  • Travel. This role is based in Pinson, AL but may include the need to travel and visit Vulcan’s operations throughout our footprint. Willingness to travel is required.
  • Work With Large Equipment. Follow established work procedures for machining, fitting, and repairing large crushing equipment parts. Load, feed, align, and secure mechanism with an overhead crane.
  • Plan Machining. Plan machining by work orders, blue prints, engineering plans, materials, or other specifications. Prepare work sketches and design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet needs.
  • Perform Machining Operations. Program, set up, and adjust mills, lathes, and many advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
  • Ensure Efficiency. Visually observe and listen to operating machines and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
