Requirements

  • Knowledge of architectural specifications and wood products.
  • Understand door construction, stile and rail, frames and specialty flush door is required.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine programming parameters.
  • Perform machine adjustment calculations.
  • Adjust and set drills, mills, and lathes to ensure 100 percent accuracy.
  • Use knowledge of safety standards to avoid workplace accidents.
  • Must have State of Wisconsin Journeyman/Journeywoman Machinist accreditation
  • Must have a completed high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year Machinist experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide training to more junior level, less experienced workers.
  • Willing to work occasional weekends and extended hours during the work week as needed and be flexible to schedule changes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following safety rules and procedures.
  • Attend training programs offered by the Company.
  • Communicate with coworkers and supervisors in a clear and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Wear appropriate personal protection equipment.
  • Read process documentation to determine physical specifications and processing steps.
  • Set-up and adjust equipment; understand drawings, change heads, inserts and other replacement tooling.
  • Gather materials as needed for assembly of doors.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Operate motorized equipment, (i.e. forklift, KVAL lifts, etc.) as needed.
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance and operator care as required, i.e. oiling, minor tooling replacement.
  • Assist Management, Maintenance, and Quality Personnel when trouble-shooting equipment, process, or material issues.
  • Communicate effectively for flow of doors through mill.
  • Maintain downtime records and production information as appropriate.
