Requirements

Knowledge of architectural specifications and wood products.
Understand door construction, stile and rail, frames and specialty flush door is required.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Read and interpret blueprints to determine programming parameters.
Perform machine adjustment calculations.
Adjust and set drills, mills, and lathes to ensure 100 percent accuracy.
Use knowledge of safety standards to avoid workplace accidents.
Must have State of Wisconsin Journeyman/Journeywoman Machinist accreditation
Must have a completed high school diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year Machinist experience

Responsibilities

Provide training to more junior level, less experienced workers.
Willing to work occasional weekends and extended hours during the work week as needed and be flexible to schedule changes.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following safety rules and procedures.
Attend training programs offered by the Company.
Communicate with coworkers and supervisors in a clear and professional manner.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Wear appropriate personal protection equipment.
Read process documentation to determine physical specifications and processing steps.
Set-up and adjust equipment; understand drawings, change heads, inserts and other replacement tooling.
Gather materials as needed for assembly of doors.
Perform quality checks.
Operate motorized equipment, (i.e. forklift, KVAL lifts, etc.) as needed.
Perform minor preventative maintenance and operator care as required, i.e. oiling, minor tooling replacement.
Assist Management, Maintenance, and Quality Personnel when trouble-shooting equipment, process, or material issues.
Communicate effectively for flow of doors through mill.
Maintain downtime records and production information as appropriate.
