About The Position

The ZF Off-Highway Solutions Minnesota Inc. team designs and manufactures hydraulic and electrohydraulic components, controls, and brake systems for off-highway machines. The Model Shop / Tool Room (MSTR) team manufactures prototypes, fixtures, and provides support for all areas of manufacturing. Prototypes and fixtures range from simple to complex. The machinists manufacture parts from raw material making all decisions in the process to get to a final product. They also decide how to fixture their parts, program them using CAM, and make decisions on order of operations to get a precise final product.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a two-year or four-year technical program is required
• The ideal candidate should be technically oriented and capable of understanding the fundamentals of mechanical, as well as measurements and inspections
• The individual should be self-motivated, capable of working on projects individually, meeting deadlines, and have good problem-solving skills
• Basic knowledge of CNC programming, CAD/CAM and operation on three axis machining centers and lathes is desired
• Minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Responsibilities

• Program vertical machining centers and lathes using Mastercam and Pro Engineer Creo
• Set-up and operate manual and CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts and fixtures
• Inspect parts produced using hand tools, gauges, CMMs, and Faro arm with laser scanner
• 3D printing of prototypes and fixtures
• Collaborate with engineers to improve designs for manufactural ability
