About The Position

We are seeking a knowledgeable Machinist III to join our team at Elemet Manufacturing. Responsible for interpreting client specifications and entering them into the CNC machine, setting up and monitoring machine as it operates. This position will make critical contributions to the company’s reputation, ensuring the excellence of products by following inspection protocols and detecting errors before products are released.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; post-secondary education in Machine Tool Technology or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of machining experience required, with a focus on metals preferred.
  • Proficiency in running, troubleshooting, and programming CNC machines.
  • Solid working knowledge of machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and using measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
  • Understanding of various metal materials and machine code (G-code) CAD.
  • Knowledge of hoist safety protocols.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a consistent basis
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools
  • Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • Consistently wear personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work in production facility with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HAAS machines is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience with Mastercam or similar software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various CNC machinery and equipment to produce metal components.
  • Foster a "safety first" culture on the production floor by ensuring adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Accurately report daily production quantities to meet established goals.
  • Conduct consistent and precise counts of materials and products.
  • Create and write new programs based on engineering prints.
  • Perform quality checks on products and communicate results daily.
  • Make advanced adjustments and repairs to machines as needed.
  • Set up workstations according to safety standards to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following established procedures for equipment maintenance.
  • Recall and input programs as necessary.
  • Perform complete machine setups independently.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in interactions with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Operate multiple CNC machines when required.
  • Select appropriate tooling for manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of machine feeds and speeds to optimize machining processes and enhance production efficiency.
  • Build advanced fixtures and work-holding devices for part families.
  • Accurately manage tool inventory through the tool crib system.
  • Qualify first part approval for inspection.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Read, write, and save setup sheets for various machines.
  • Share expertise and knowledge effectively with co-workers and management.
