About The Position

The position will setup and operate machining equipment to manufacture custom-designed parts for all systems designed and built by the company. The ideal candidate would be a Level 2 or 3 Machinist.

Requirements

• Apprentice Level 0 (M0): entry level with skills such as writing, computer usage, punctuality, flexibility, team orientation, cleanliness, resilience, self-starter, coachable, honesty, even tempered, detail oriented, mechanically inclined, and math skills
• Operator Level 1 (M1): minimum 6 months experience in a machine shop with knowledge of basic tools, ability to quality check parts, knowledge of setup sheets, feeds and speeds, and basic maintenance of machines
• Intermediate Level 2 (M2): 2-5 years experience in a machine shop with ability to setup and run CNC independently, own a set of tools, and read and understand advanced prints
• Advanced Level 3 (M3): 5+ years experience in a machine shop with ability to operate all machines, create fixturing and setup sheets, and strong communication with engineers

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
• Working knowledge of machine shop practices

Responsibilities

• Machine parts to engineering drawings using machine tools such as lathes and milling machines
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments
• Measure, examine, and test completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure quality to engineering specifications
• Assist and interface with mechanical engineering group during development of systems
• Maintain cleanliness of shop workspace and free of hazards
• Ensure machine tools are properly maintained
• Work with all departments to accomplish our goals and objectives
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
