About The Position

Job Summary: In this job you will assist with the set-up, programming, operation, and adjustment of conventional or automatic machines such as Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machines. In this role you will work from drawings and written instructions to create replacement and new parts in making repairs to metal parts as well as for experimental apparatus or prototype equipment and read CNC programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of machining experience preferred
  • Advanced training in CNC machining preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and prints.
  • Ability to work in auto cad including work with computers, hand tools and measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers and tape measures.
  • Ability to write CNC programs.
  • Ability to set up and operate manual lathes and other machines according to precise tolerances.
  • Ability to change tooling, set up machines according to required machining sequences.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic maintenance skills.
  • Ability to work and run your machine with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs for multiple machines
  • Lead setup and operation of CNC and manual machines to exact tolerances
  • Oversee entire machining cells or areas, ensuring productivity and quality
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolve operational issues independently
  • Operate Mazak interface and 5-axis lathe
  • Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
  • Ensure the machine is following operational and safety guidelines
  • Meet all production standards
  • Work in constant state of alertness with safety always a priority
  • Other duties as assigned
