This is an entry level Machinist II position in the Fabrication Department. Performs function under minimum supervision and are responsible for making aircraft components to customers’ specifications and development of work techniques.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years relevant prior manufacturing experience
  • Ability to understand and perform job duties to meet quality criteria.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings & work instructions with some supervision.
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Basic Shop Math Skills
  • Must be able to work in a standing position up to 8 hours per day.
  • Attendance Standards: Consistently be at work and communicate appropriately any attendance issues with your supervisor as per Attendance policy . Consistently at their workstation at the appropriately scheduled time. Does not abuse breaks and/or departure times.

Responsibilities

  • Notifies Lead/Supervisor of quality discrepancies or equipment malfunctions
  • Start Certified Operator Training
  • Interpret WO instructions and BOM information
  • Understands proper use of calibration tools
  • Understands preventative maintenance and maintains TPM requirements
  • Performs Routine/Repetitive tasks that require little judgement
  • Load and start CNC programs at machines as needed
  • Be proficient in Deburr, Sand Blast, Bench Drill and Sheer
  • Performs Minor machine adjustments to meet print specifications
  • Performs deburring, drilling and other secondary operations.
  • Meets or exceeds required output hours
  • Performs general skills with hand and power tools
  • Begins to cross-train on other fabrication work centers
  • Utilizes SAP for job specific tasks (order moves, inventory management)
  • Understand Notes, Flags, and Specs on Drawings
  • Properly determines the cause of quality discrepancy
  • Follows established procedures on routine work but requires instructions on new assignments
