About The Position

Job Summary: The Machinist & Maintenance Tech will be the operator of automatic CNC spring machines to fabricate springs from steel wire and will hand assembly of more complex components. The Machinist & Maintenance Tech will also work with maintenance leader on upkeep and repairs of production and facility equipment. This Job will be support for both production and maintenance and will flex between each area as needed. Essential job Description: Reviews blueprints to determine setup procedures to follow, machine attachments required and stock to use or obtain details from setup charts. Selects machine attachments, such as taper cams, wire size block, coiling point, pitch tool and cutting tool according to a blueprint or setup chart and installs them on the machine. Ability to use gauges, load testers, micrometers, and calipers to adjust the machine to attain specified tolerances. Understands blueprints and is able to use a variety of precision measuring devices. Perform preventative maintenance and skilled repairs on production and facility equipment. Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems. Complying with all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while carrying out maintenance functions.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret part specifications or blueprints.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good verbal and communication skills.
  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years experience in and/or equivalent machine operation and setup or 1-2 years working in facility or plant maintenance.
  • May lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Standing may be 4 hours straight per day.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders.
  • Pushing and pulling required throughout the day (Hand trucks and Dollies)
