The BorgWarner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry. The Arden campus offers a multitude of career opportunities and is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. This position will machine components by operating various machines and equipment. This position will adhere to the BorgWarner Environmental Health and Safety Program by following all safety rules, procedures, practices, training, and safe use of equipment; this includes use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. This individual will work in a way that stresses the importance of preventing injury, accidents, or illnesses to themselves or co-workers by correcting or reporting unsafe situations, incidents, or occurrences to their Team Lead immediately.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Experience in fast paced industrial environment; 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic and advanced math skills (decimals, addition, subtraction, fractions. ratios, proportions) Geometry and trigonometry is a plus.
  • Attendance on the job is essential.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  • Loading and unloading of CNC machinery.
  • Packing out finished material into dunnage.
  • Loading and unloading CMM/Measurement systems.
  • Cleaning and organizing of work areas (5S standards).
  • Read and understand internal procedures and policies
  • Working knowledge of component balancers and ability to balance components as required.
  • Transport material as required using proper handling methods.
  • Keep work area in orderly condition with respect to proper materials, tools, equipment, and personal belongings. (Includes cleaning of equipment, floors, tables, etc.)
  • Maintain quality standards by following proper inspection procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Understand and adhere to current quality and control policies.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
