About The Position

The Role: Our site in Decatur, TX is seeking a Machinist I to join our team. HOURS OF THE POSITION ARE 3:15PM-11:15PM MONDAY-FRIDAY WITH OVERTIME ADDED AT THE END OF THE SHIFT. REQUIREMENT TO TRAIN ON FIRST SHIFT FOR ABOUT THREE WEEKS BEFORE MOVING TO SECOND SHIFT Perform tasks directly related to the machining of graphite, silicon carbides, and other specialty materials. Will program and set-up a variety of CNC mills and lathes to produce parts and molds for a variety of industries. What You'll Do Work is job oriented, following detailed blueprints, customer specifications, and internal work instructions. Operate hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and computers, (desktop and machine control varieties) Operate powered machine tools such as vertical CNC mills, manual and CNC lathes, surface and centerless grinders, cup grinders, bandsaws, and other machining equipment. Perform machine setups and/or operate equipment that is setup by more skilled operators. Complete machining tasks within a customer job. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing guidelines to consistently produce high-quality products. May be tasked with preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess math and precision measurement skills and able to read machine drawings.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of machining methods.
  • Astute attention to detail to drive Safety and Quality.
  • Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials responsibly while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Candidate must have the capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws.
  • Able to safely lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to pass pre-employment physical.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in working in an ISO 9000/14000 environment a plus
