About The Position

The CNC Machinist I is responsible for setting up and operating various CNC Mill and Lathe Machines. In this role, you will be expected to identify and use proper tools, gages, and equipment. You will be responsible for understanding various work processes and performing various machining operations within the CNC Machining group.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience interpreting engineering prints, CNC Machine experience, and machine setup experience, including tool touch-offs and fixture installation.
  • Or a signed apprenticeship contract in lieu of the above experience requirements.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the work location will be considered.
  • Ability to operate all workstations effectively in the CNC Machinist group.
  • Ability to learn and operate in multiple machine cells
  • Ability to perform in a team matrix environment.
  • Ability to read and use drawings, routings, blueprints, specifications, part numbers, and other shop documents affecting thisposition.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and any shift as needed.
  • Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach and use ladder up to 8 hours a day, occasionally up to 12 hours per day with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to lift 44lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience interpreting engineering prints
  • Experience with operating Mazak, Doosan, Ganesh, or Hardinge machines
  • Experience operating Fanuc or Mazak controllers and editing G&M code
  • Formal technical training or degree in manufacturing trades from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain tolerances, inspection, and production standards
  • Meet or exceed quality and quantity standards
  • Operate multiple machines in machining work centers
  • Make offsets based on inspection of parts in accordance to print specifications/instructions.
  • Download programs from network system (DNC) into the machine
  • Set up, adjust, and operate basic or specialized machine tools used for precision machining operations.
  • Proficient use of micrometers, calipers, indicators, and various other measuring instruments
  • Assist Quality and Engineering teams with problem-solving troubleshooting
  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and follow general housekeeping (5S+) standard and autonomous maintenance tasks
  • Interpret print datum structure and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T
