About The Position

Operator sets up and operates all machining equipment associated with the manufacturing of Tantalum and Niobium products, specifically, Lathes, milling, drilling, and cutting, ensuring the highest finished product quality.

Requirements

• Requires a high school or vocational degree or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of machine shop experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Must know how to operate lathes and milling machines.
• Display competence in operating and maintaining more than one machine in defined department.
• Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing using the English language.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, operates and programs lathes both manual and CNC.
• Sets up, operates and programs milling machines both manual and CNC.
• Sets up and operates saws and drilling equipment.
• Interprets drawings and plans work in a proper operational sequence.
• Selects and sets 'speeds' and 'feeds' based on material being processed.
• Uses precision measuring tools to verify that all work is completed within the required tolerances.
• Inspects and maintains all tooling required to support the machining process.
• Performs troubleshooting and routine preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment.
• Processes material samples as required.
• Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and standard operating procedures to ensure personal safety and high product quality.
• Maintains work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition on a daily basis by following 5S Standard Work practices.
• Cross trains in other process areas as time permits.
