About The Position

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of hands-on CNC machining experience.
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings and blueprints.
• Experience using quality inspection tools such as verniers, calipers, and micrometers.
• Basic knowledge of machine shop math, including trigonometry.
• Familiarity with machining terminology and procedures.
• Demonstrated safe work history.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CNC milling and boring of steel and other metals.
• Familiarity with Siemens and Fanuc controls.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC controlled horizontal milling center and horizontal boring bar.
• Review manufacturing documents for operation sequence and setup information.
• Identify work pieces and assist in loading them onto machines.
• Set up and align parts using blocks, shims, and clamps.
• Assemble proper cutting tools for operation using various tool holders and inserts.
• Load CNC programs and perform trial runs to check program accuracy.
• Adjust machine parameters such as feed rate and speed as required.
• Perform close tolerance machining operations on large structural components.
• Conduct in-process inspections of machined parts to maintain quality standards.
• Make program changes and edits as necessary.
• Clean up work pieces and maintain a clean work area.
