This position involves the installation, inspection, and maintenance of rotating equipment within the refinery. The role requires the individual to inspect, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on various types of rotating equipment. Responsibilities include adjusting and aligning machinery and equipment, using hand and power tools to complete assigned work tasks, and reading and interpreting schematics and drawings. The candidate must be able to set up, prepare, and inspect the work site, demonstrating knowledge of basic physical and mechanical principles as well as craft math. Understanding of bearings, seals, compressors, pumps and cylinders, valve and pipe configurations, shaft packing, and drive systems is essential. Additionally, the candidate should be knowledgeable about the characteristics of metals and the various types and applications of lubricants. Following guidelines and procedures to ensure that rotating equipment operates safely and reliably is a critical aspect of this role.
