About The Position

RIVERSIDE, located in Eau Claire, WI is a precision machining company. Our mission is to provide custom precision manufacturing and innovative services to medical, aviation, space, defense, and emerging high-tech industries. The Machinist/CNC Programmer will perform machine setups and operate various CNC machining centers. The role also involves creating and editing CNC programs using CAM software. Additionally, this position is responsible for creating detailed setup sheets to effectively communicate the details of the machine setup and steps taken to produce conforming product.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in machining; minimum 5+ years of CNC Machinist experience with emphasis on set up and operation.
  • 0-2 years of programming experience in a manufacturing environment with CAM experience.
  • Listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Able to read CNC programs and understand what dimensions each tool is creating.
  • Firm understanding of tooling and applications of different tool types.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, adapt to shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to think independently.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • CAM Programming (MasterCam, Esprit); CAD Modeling (Solidworks).
  • Knowledge of Engineering processes and specifications.
  • Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds and feeds for various materials.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with others.
  • Show initiative by being a self-starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a variety of CNC machines.
  • Read and understand blueprints, job routings, setup sheets, and charts in order to identify and conform to dimensions, tolerances, tooling instructions, cutting speeds, feed rates, etc.
  • Load and set tools factoring in run out, tool length stick outs and proper holder based on what tool is doing.
  • Detect non-nominal dimensions and adjust work and tooling offsets. Detect surface finish or related issues and replace dull or chipped tooling. Understand tool life and record and properly set the machine to indicate when tool life is consumed.
  • Perform Quality Control Characteristics measurement and documentation.
  • Have a firm understanding of measurement equipment. Perform inspection, using a variety of inspection equipment.
  • Train and support others within the area of expertise.
  • Create CNC programs and setup sheets.
  • Designs and program fixtures and work holding.
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software, ensuring alignment with manufacturing plans and engineering/customer specifications.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.

  • $3,000.00 Sign On Bonus - This Sign On Bonus will be paid out in two payments: $1,500.00 will be paid out after completing 90 calendar days of employment, and the remaining $1,500.00 after completing 180 days of employment.
