This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our Copper Crossing Value Stream (CXVS) facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Requirements

  • For Level 3: 4+ years CNC 3-5 axis machining experience.
  • For Level 4: 6+ years CNC 3-5 axis machining experience.
  • Extensive experience running manual machines and performing set-ups.
  • Ability to read and interpret production specifications, production diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical specifications (English).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Expert in GD & T.
  • Experience in following written set-up instructions and/or performing unique set-ups.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve unforeseen, unique issues as they arise in machining a part(s).
  • Experience in complex measurements and advanced shop math calculations relative to tolerances, dimensions, tooling, and feeds and speeds.
  • Ability to understand and work with knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Machinist Certification from an accredited Trade School.
  • Experience with Fanuc Controller preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work on and inspect High Value rocket motor case manufacturing activities utilizing Machining Centers and Hand Operations.
  • Set up and operate CNC equipment to machine parts per specification.
  • Perform both in-process and final part inspections to ensure product quality.
  • Care for and maintain the equipment, assuring tooling and materials readiness.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Provide training to others in all aspects of CNC equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.
