About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is working to once again transform the future of flight—designing, building and servicing engines unlike any the world has ever seen. Our Springdale, AR facility employs over 200 employees and provides critical support to the aftermarket operations of our engine portfolio. We are looking for Machinist Technicians/Experienced Machine Operators for 2nd shift. PSD is a clean, well-lit, state-of-the-art machining center in a climate-controlled facility. Overtime opportunity may be available, after a period of training. Pratt & Whitney PSD is an FAA regulated facility, and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment. This position is for 2nd shift. Hours are Monday-Friday, 3:00PM to 11:30PM. You will receive a shift differential when working on 2nd Shift of 8%. All new employees will train on 1st shift for the first 6-8 months. The 1st shift training hours are Monday-Friday, 6:30AM to 3:00PM.

Requirements

  • HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical trade school degree in machining.
  • 2 years of machining experience/training to include set-up of fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories.
  • Previous experience/training reading blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine machining and set-up requirements.
  • 5+ years of machining experience.
  • FANUC Controller experience.
  • Experience with VTL, Lathes, and/or Mills.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate conventional, special purpose, and computerized numeric control (CNC) machines to fabricate and repair metallic and non-metallic parts.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications to determine machine and set-up requirements.
  • Set-up and prepare includes: set up of fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories.
  • Perform operator level maintenance of machine and set up documents.
  • Use measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, to ensure specifications are met.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
